According to a recent study conducted by The Scottish SPCA and the University of Glasgow, dogs prefer reggae and soft rock over other genres.
The controversial paper sparked outrage among the UTM staff, as one editor claims, “reggae is for fat white dads who sing ‘One Love’ in a very racist and condescending way, dogs don’t do that. Dogs are saints.”
The angry reaction stemmed from the revelation that “the dogs were played five different genres of music: soft rock, motown, pop, reggae and classical.”
Editor-in-Chief Nathan Butler said of the study: “How cruel do you have to be to subject dogs to trash music in the name of “science”? It’s barking mad. Wait, don’t put barking mad, I fucking hate puns. Seriously, take that bit ou-”
The UTM team even produced a counter-study to disprove the claims of the original paper, stating that “dogs love bangers. Trust us. Two of us have dogs and they don’t listen to trash. If you don’t believe us, check out the evidence.”
Here is said evidence – 5 videos of dogs enjoying music that isn’t reggae.

Dog in the Paint
R.I.P to the Prince of Bork, AKA Gabe the Dog. One of his truly inspiring remixes was this one of Waka Flocka Flame‘s ‘Hard in Da Paint’. Sleep tight, pupper.
If you watch very closely at the start of the video, you can see this Akita dabbing to Desiigner‘s ‘Panda’. Take that, dad!
Ultimate Bread Dogs
This Pomeranian rap squad made a tribute video for ‘Ultimate’ by Denzel Curry. I have no idea why they have bread on their faces, but the important thing to take away from this is that it is not reggae or soft rock.
